Tickets go on sale Saturday for Bruno Mars’ Honolulu homecoming concert Dec. 19 at Blaisdell Arena. Mars, a graduate of Roosevelt High School, made his debut as a professional entertainer in Hawaii almost 20 years ago and is returning as one of the hottest acts in the country.

His “Just the Way You Are” single has spent four weeks atop Billboards’ Hot 100 chart and he’s touring to support his debut album, “Doo-Wops & Hooligans.” Mars recently performed on “Saturday Night Live” and on “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

The current issue of Entertainment Weekly predicts his second solo single, “Grenade,” will be a big hit.

While his music career continues to soar, Mars is due back in a Las Vegas courtroom Nov. 18 on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. The singer was arrested early Sept. 19 after police allegedly found him with 2.6 grams of cocaine after a concert at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
