Dinnertime: Fans of The Whole Ox Butcher & Deli in Kakaako will be happy to know it is now open for dinner.

You can order the dry-aged burger (popular during lunch) for dinner, too, along with a selection including lardo, roasted chicken, poutine, pork shank, beef shank, vegetable pakora and Kielbasa.

Dinner menu specials, including dry-aged steak, are subject to change on a daily basis, along with desserts. As of last week, dessert was an almond tart or keawe-smoked brownie.

The Whole Ox Deli, 237 Keawe St., is open from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. for breakfast and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch Monday through Saturday. Its new dinner hours are 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday. Dinner is BYOB. Call 699-6328 or visit wholeoxdeli.com.

Wine & Swine: Take a culinary journey around the world with contrasting spices and classic cuisines using just one pig.

Salt Kitchen & Tasting Bar is offering a “bilingual,” four-course menu with wine pairings for its September Wine & Swine dinner on Sept. 25.

You will taste the contrast between France and Italy, starting with a platter of “fromage de tete,” or head cheese, along with rillette, prosciutto and soppresata.

Next, taste a bit of Japan and Mexico with Takoyaki (grilled octopus), trotter (pig’s foot) and pork cheek huaraches, followed by a third course juxtaposing Spain and South America with lengua estofado (braised tongue) in an almond-tomato romesco.

The fourth course pairs the U.S. and Germany with good, old corn dogs and a smoked tater salad, along with bratwurst and sauerkraut.

Dessert is cold brewed coffee and Irish whiskey with bacon and swiss-swine truffles.

Wines to be announced.

Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. at Salt, 3605 Waialae Ave. Cost is $65. Reservations required at 744-7567.

3660 Favorites: Chef Russell Siu’s 3660 on the Rise is offering a menu of all-time favorites to celebrate its 20th anniversary through Saturday.

These are items that were available since the day 3660 opened 20 years ago — including a starter of Caesar salad or clam and corn chowder, choice of New York steak with sea salt, tempura catfish in ponzu sauce or Chinese steamed fresh snapper. Dessert is a duet of bread pudding and chocolate souffle cake.

3660 on the Rise is at 3660 Waialae Ave. Cost is $36.60. Call 737-1177.

Curry buffet: The Kahala Hotel & Resort’s Plumeria Beach House continues to offer a Wednesday curry buffet lunch throughout September.

The buffet is available from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering a variety of curries from around the world, served with condiments.

Salads, a la carte menu items (including the Kahala burger, Pipikaula Reuben sandwich) and desserts are also available at the cafe.

Cost is $30 per person. Call 739-8760 or email restaurants@kahalaresort.com.
