Freestyle: More pictures from the playa
BY ELIZABETH KIESZKOWSKI / email@example.com
I have more photos to share from the playa during Burning Man, which wraps up today, Labor Day. More blog posts to come on my experiences in the desert, but for now, enjoy these images.
I went on a photo safari as sunset approached in Black Rock City. Outside the colorful installations and camps, it was all about the dust.
This couple asked me to take a photo showing the sunset behind them.
Lamplighters are Burning Man volunteers who are suited up to pass throughout the camp and light lanterns along the roadways. I got this shot of them heading out.
A parade of performers take turns at Center Camp each day during Burning Man. Dance, live music and spoken word are among the attractions.
An altar at one of the Center Camp niches. It’s made from recycled cardboard and other materials.
I passed by this odd camp, Swag Mart.
Want to make bad decisions on the spot? Try the Carnival of Bad Decisions at Burning Man, with attractions including a “sit ‘n’ spin” with a drunken clown as its guardian.
Art on the playa. Take a look at the people in the crowd.
Burning Man’s Black Rock City even has its own newspaper! The Black Rock Beacon gets the scoops on daily attractions and Burning Man news.
The sun set over the mountains, and my camp, Decadent Oasis.
