Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom and Makana headlined the Signature Ka’anapali Fresh 5-0 Food & Wine Festival on the third hole of the Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course on Saturday, Aug. 31.

The event celebrated the West Maui resort’s 50th anniversary with chefs from Kaanapali hotels and restaurants paired up with local farmers to serve up bite-sized dishes that ran the gamut from Roy’s keawe-smoked Hawaii Ranchers beef brisket with Kaanapali coffee BBQ sauce and Syl’s corn puree, and Royal Lahaina Resort’s spicy crab meat taco, to Maui Ocean Vodka’s blueberry ginger martini and Roselani’s basil-and-coffee ice cream.

Other participants included Leilani’s on the Beach, CJ’s Deli & Diner, Hula Grill, Hyatt Regency, Marriott Maui Ocean Club, Ka’anapali Beach Hotel, Sheraton Maui, Westin Maui, Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas and D.K.’s Maui Fish & Pasta, and farms ONO Organic, A’ina Haumana, Kula Country Farms, Syl’s Produce, Traje Farms, Surfing Goat Dairy, Otani Farm, Hana Fresh, J. Shishido Farm, Maui Gold Pineapple, Ho’o Pono Farm and Evonuk Farms. Wines were courtesy Southern Wine & Spirits.
