If you liked Jorge Garcia on “Lost” — and really, who didn’t? — and you liked him as Dr. Diego Soto on “Alcatraz” then you’ll most likely love him on tonight’s episode of “Hawaii Five-0.”

Garcia guest stars as a conspiracy theorist named Jerry Ortega. At first glance, he looks like Hurley with the long hair and an aloha shirt. But he has a lot of deep thoughts on government.

“Jerry Ortega is a meld between Hurley and Diego,” he said in a phone call from Los Angeles, where he lives. “They are both cut from the same cloth of me. They are going to have some of the same aspects, a similar energy.”

Garcia enjoyed shooting the episode, which reunited him with former “Lost” co-star Daniel Dae Kim, but the context is humorously different.

“It was like I was visiting him in his new world,” Garcia said. “It’s like he was dating other people. Oh, this is your new family. But everyone on the show was really great.”

Once a show is done, it’s not a given that actors — friends — will find themselves working together again. On the red carpet at the season four “Sunset on the Beach” premiere, Kim said as much and that he cherished his time with his old “Lost” pals. The premiere episode featured another “Lost” alum, Henry Ian Cusick, who played Desmond.

“Daniel’s right, it is tricky,” Garcia said. “The nature of this business is you are always somewhere else. It makes you appreciate it that much more when you do run into each other.”

But Kim might want to pencil in some extra time in January. Garcia said “Five-0” wants him back.
