Holiday Spiked Tea: RumFire at the Sheraton Waikiki is offering holiday “Spiked Afternoon Tea” today through Dec. 24.

Now, this is not your tutu’s tea party, since we’re talking about tea cocktails.

The set tea price of $20 allows a choice of two sliders, one scone, one dessert and a spiked cocktail.

During the holidays, “Christmas coffee,” a sweet blend of horchata liquor on the rocks with a splash of iced coffee and a candy cane, is a cocktail choice. Regular spiked tea cocktails include Ginger Peach Green Tea, made with Seagram’s peach tea; and Cyn on Sunday with Sobieski Cynamon cinnamon vodka, fresh oranges and fresh-brewed ice tea.

Holiday food specials include pumpkin cheesecake and shrimp sliders with spicy black bean sauce. Five other sliders are offered, including The Remedy, ground black Angus beef with Italian truffle cheese; The Twisted, braised beef short rib with cole slaw; and The Little Saigon, tamarind-marinated chicken with papaya salad.

Items may also be ordered a la carte for $5 each. Through Dec. 13, guests who bring a shopping receipt from any store will receive 15 percent off of the holiday tea. Call 922-4422.

Spiked Afternoon Tea is available from 1 to 4 p.m. daily (with holiday specials served through Christmas Eve) at RumFire, Sheraton Waikiki, 2255 Kalakaua Ave.

Flight to Portugal: The Veranda at The Kahala Hotel & Resort is featuring Portugal as the theme of its Dec. 6 “Friday Night Flight” series.

The five-course menu starts with a Portuguese Crudite Plate composed of green olive dip, farmers bread, fried green beans and heirloom carrots. A salad of pan-seared fresh fish with black-eyed peas and baby arugula follows.

The third course is Portuguese pork sausage with Manila clams, followed by a Portuguese piri piri beef flatiron steak with warm potato salad. Dessert is Portuguese custard tart.

A flight of Portuguese wines will accompany the courses, including Lima Vinho Verde 2012 “Auratus,” Tinto “Loios” and Douro “Passa,” along with port.

Cost is $50 per person. Call 739-8760 or make reservations at opentable.com. Visit kahalaresort.com and click on Dining Offers for information.

SALT Thanksgiving Specials: Salt Bar & Kitchen is offering a seasonal appetizer and entree special through Sunday, Dec. 1.

The appetizer special is pumpkin risotto ($15) with pancetta, local greens, Manchego cheese and pork. The entree special is a roasted duck breast ($26) with sunchoke puree, toasted farro, local mushrooms and kale in natural jus.

Salt, at 3605 Waialae Ave., offers handcrafted drinks and dishes featuring fare from Hawaii’s farms as well as house-made charcuterie. Call 744-7567 or visit salthonolulu.com.
