PICS: ’12 BARS OF CHRISTMAS’ IN CHINATOWN: 1. The second annual “12 Bars of Christmas” fundraiser took place in Chinatown on Saturday. Participants went on a pub crawl that took them to Bar 35, NextDoor, Manifest, Downbeat Lounge, Dragon Upstairs, O’Toole’s, Murphy’s, Rakuen, eleven44, Mercury Bar and thirtyninehotel, with an official after-hours party at M Nightclub. The fundraiser was organized by liquor and bar industry workers, with money raised donated to the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific and NextDoor owner Daniel Gray, who faces rising medical bills after recent surgery for a life-threatening health condition. PICS: 2013 PIPE MASTERS FINALS: 4. Kelly Slater beat John John Florence to win the 2013 Billabong Pipeline Masters in Memory of Andy Irons at the Banzai Pipeline on Saturday. While Slater took home the contest hardware, Florence was named overall winner of the 2013 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing; Australian surfer Mick Fanning, who also competed, won the overall Association of Surfing Professionals world title with his performance in the event.
