Attention grilled cheese lovers: The beloved Melt will return for lunch service at TASTE Table from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, and Friday, Jan. 24, to give fans a chance to partake in its luscious sandwiches once more.

The Kakaako culinary incubator, located at 667 Auahi St. will host chefs Lindsey Ozawa and Alejandro “Aker” Briceno, two of the three original owners of the popular food truck, alongside chef Kevin Lee, his partner at Prima, the ‘Ilima Award-winning restaurant the two now operate in Kailua.

Melt served its first sandwiches in Oct. 2010 from a parking lot in Moiliili and called it quits in July 2011 so its owners could pursue other projects.

While the Melt food truck was later sold to Henry “Hank” Adaniya and now serves Hankburgers for his restaurant, Hank’s Haute Dogs, Melt’s grilled cheese sandwiches have made multiple pop-up appearances in Honolulu over the last two and a half years.
