VIDEO: ‘Soul Sessions’ featuring Tavana
Tavana Mcmoore’s style of acoustic blues/rock/roots music presents a captivating sound that has attracted fans throughout Hawaii and the continental U.S. The singer-songwriter performs up to seven nights a week in and around Waikiki, often sending visitors home with an experience far beyond their expectations for a typical island vacation.
Tavana’s unique style also garnered the attention of Eddie Vedder, legendary front man for Pearl Jam (and one of his personal heroes). In 2009, he was invited to play a rendition of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s “Hawai’i ’78” during two sold-out concerts at the Hawaii Theatre. The performance was so popular, Pearl Jam released 10,000 copies of the live recording as a gift to fans during the holidays that year.
