0225 godzillaThe most famous monster in movie history is rearing his gigantic self — and doing some awesome roaring, too — in a new trailer for “Godzilla” released Tuesday by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.

In addition to getting a better look at the newest version of Godzilla, you get a glimpse of the panic scene shot last summer in Waikiki. But don’t blink or you’ll miss the screaming extras running on Lewers Street.

Director Gareth Edwards appears to have crafted an amazing movie and his cast, which includes Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe, are convincing. At least in the trailer. Watch and decide.

The movie opens in theaters May 16.
