Microsoft is releasing one of its hottest, most anticipated Xbox games of the year at midnight Monday.
The “Titanfall” launch party begins at 8 p.m. at the Microsoft Store in Ala Moana Center, near the Macy’s end of the mall. Customers will have a chance to win over $4,000 in prizes, which includes two Xbox One consoles, and meet former pro-volleyball player and model Gabrielle Reese. The first 25 people in line will receive an Xbox Gold 12 month subscription and the first 50 people will receive a “Titanfall” T-shirt.
Gamers are encouraged to pre-order “Titanfall” by putting $10 down at microsoftstore.com/honolulu. This will guarantee a copy of the game plus give the purchaser first access into the launch party. People wishing to attend the party are encouraged to RSVP by 4 p.m. online. The store can hold only about 100 customers.
During the festivities, members of the Hawaii Video Game League will be on hand to oversee “Titanfall” playtime. There will be eight stations available.
“Titanfall” is set in a land torn apart by war. Players are able to switch between fighting as elite assault Pilots or agile, heavily armored Titans. And, they can travel anywhere, be it running up walls or jumping from rooftop to rooftop.
The multiplayer-online game consists of 15 maps and was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts.
Gamesradar.com says the gameplay is “relentlessly cool.”
“Titanfall” costs $59.99 plus tax.
