HAWAII OCEAN EXPO UNDERWAY: The sixth annual Hawaii Ocean Expo takes place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, 777 Ward Ave. Highlights this year include a Surfboard Graveyard Swapmeet, Mermaid Boutique, keiki fun zone, boat show, Surfer’s Closet surf sample sale, poke contest, shoreline fishing tournament and Seafood Lane featuring seafood trucks and street food vendors. Cost: $8 general admission; $5 for those 13 to 18 years old; free for those 12 and under. Visit hawaiioceanexpo.com.
MOVIE ON THE LAWN AT HCC: Honolulu Community College’s Student Media Board in partnership with the Hawaii International Film Festival presents a free showing of the Academy Award-winning film “20 Feet From Stardom” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the green lawn between the Children’s Center and Building 2 on campus. There also will be music by HCC’s Music & Entertainment Learning Experience (MELE) Program and food trucks in operation starting at 6 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, pillows and picnic items; no alcohol is allowed. Parking is available via HCC’s Kokea St. entrance.
ELITE FEATURES LOCAL FASHION: Hawaii Pacific Entertainment’s Elite at the Trump International Hotel Waikiki, 223 Saratoga Rd., welcomes local designer Ed Fernandez to the party this month, with a fashion show featuring his two lines: Organik Clothing and Aloha Sailor.
