ELENA’S BIG TV PREMIER: Elena’s Restaurant is celebrating its national television debut at Eat the Street: Garlic in Kakaako.
The Filipino food favorite was featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” in an Oahu-centric episode called “Island Flavor,” which highlights the Waipahu eatery’s famous pork adobo fried rice and lechon special.
The episode will be shown throughout the evening on a 16-foot inflatable screen, and Elena’s will also be hosting free drawings every 30 minutes to win $25 gift certificates. And don’t forget to bring the breath mints as the event’s usual lineup of food trucks will be featuring garlic dishes.

M’S GOT CANNON: Nick Cannon, S.K.A.M. Artist and host of “America’s Got Talent” (oh, and Mariah Carey’s husband), performs a DJ set Friday at M Nightclub, 500 Ala Moana Blvd.
The talented actor, comedian, host, writer, director, musician and now DJ released his latest album “White People Party Music” in April.

DJ QBERT: The Filipino American turntablist and composer from San Francisco, named America’s Best DJ 2010 by Pioneer DJ and DJ Times, tears it up at Nextdoor Friday night. He’s credited with developing countless scratching techniques and musical innovations.
