Social Encore: Jeans Warehouse offers ‘More’
BY JERMEL-LYNN QUILLOPO / Special to the Star-Advertiser
At Ward Centers, the old Nordstrom Rack space is now occupied by a new store called And More… By Local Fever. The concept of providing fashion at affordable prices is still the main focus, and I got a sneak peek of what will be be on sale during the store’s grand opening on Saturday.
AND MORE… BY LOCAL FEVER GRAND OPENING
» Where: Ward Centers, 1170 Auahi St.
And More… By Local Fever is owned by local fashion retailer Jeans Warehouse and is one of their biggest locations to date, occupying 20,000 square feet in Kakaako.
As soon as you walk through the glass sliding doors, the variety of items in stock might be overwhelming at first. Keep walking through the aisles, however, and you will surely find something for the whole family. I came across a white racerback casual top similar to one I found at H&M a few weeks ago. There, the top was about $25; at the new And More, it was $15.
Women, men, girls and boys will be able to find fashionable outfits here without breaking the bank. There are 15 new concepts the store is testing out and one of those is home furnishings. From kitchenware to chic lamps starting around $25 and well-decked and sparkling full-length mirrors ($170), you’ll be able to create a modern, yet edgy look.
Want something to compliment the new furniture? And More also offers bedding, with full sets starting at $60.
SUMMER MEANS people are taking the time to travel. And More has the perfect gear! With colorful luggage, you’ll look trendy while boarding the plane to your next destination.
“We are always looking to grow as a company and we wanted to bring something different to our typical customers,” said Jeans Warehouse assistant operations manager Trey Takahashi. “We will carry different brand names that our customers are accustomed to hearing at really great prices.”
The store will occupy its current space for about seven months until Whole Foods moves in; the company is currently looking for more permanent space. You will be able to find brands such as Rachel Roy, Tommy Bahamas, Vince Camputo, Hurley, Ed Hardy, Tommy Hilfiger and even small pieces from Michael Kors.
The store receives new shipments every day and never carries back stock, meaning the early bird gets first dibs on the newest items.
I found a white, studded leather Aimee Kestenberg bag that retailed at $278, but was marked at $179. If you are into higher end bags, I spotted a small, red Gucci leather handbag. Sure, it was from a previous season, but that bag retailed for about $1,500. It was on sale at And More for $1,000.
For footwear, you can find brands such as Soda, Bebe, and Steve Madden. Don’t forget about other accessories for your outfits sich as jewelry; you’ll find J Crew-inspired necklaces with matching earrings for $10 and an assortment of rings (two for $5).
On Saturday, 102.7 Da Bomb radio personality Hawaiian Ryan will host the grand opening; And More will also give away gift cards worth up to $100 every 15 minutes. One lucky winner will win a $500 shopping spree.
