Are you ready for some football? The Super Bowl is quickly approaching, and Bar 35 has you covered. Catch the game on a wall-size screen with bloody marys and select beers on special. There will also be free appetizers while supplies last. The fun begins at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 1, so go early to grab a table or two. A big-screen TV will also be stationed in the open-air patio bar for those who prefer fresh air. Must be 21 or older. No cover. No reservations needed. No dress code. Free street parking.
Newbie in town: Crabbie’s Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer is now available in Hawaii. The beverage contains 4.8 percent alcohol, hence “alcoholic” in its name. Just FYI, most ginger beers don’t contain alcohol. Imported from Edinburgh, Scotland, the beer comes in pint bottles and can be found at Ewa Pantry, Tamura’s and Whole Foods for $5.99-$7.99. Cocktail recipes are available on the company’s website at crabbiesgingerbeer.co.uk.
Happy anniversary: Dairy Queen turns 75 this year, and to begin its yearlong celebration, the company has teamed up with Oreo to create the Birthday Cake Oreo Blizzard, the Blizzard of this month. Check it out.
Fantastic deal: Purchase a $1 Frosty key tag at Wendy’s and you can get a free Jr. Frosty every time you make a purchase this year. Ninety cents from the $1 will go to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Key tags are available only while supplies last, so hurry. At press time only the Wendy’s in Kapolei, Kunia and Wahiawa had key tags. Check with your neighborhood Wendy’s for availability.
