Quick Bites: Treetops Restaurant, Kona Brewing
BY MICHELLE RAMOS / firstname.lastname@example.org
New jerky in town: The Great Aloha Run Expo at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall will feature a new product: Sriracha beef jerky. Look for the Country Archer display (Booth 247) at the Feb. 13-15 expo.
Want your own bag? The jerky is available in 3- and 5-ounce sizes at the Kaheka and Waipahu Don Quijote locations for $5.95 to $9.95.
Bigger, better brewing: Folks on the east side may have noticed that Kona Brewing Co. has closed its doors — temporarily. The eatery at Koko Marina Center started its three-week, $1 million renovation Sunday. It will reopen Feb. 23 with a new menu; bigger bar, seating and kitchen areas; and new cosmetic touches.
Speaking of renovations: Treetops Restaurant is finished with its overhaul. The Manoa Valley eatery reopened Monday with a new kitchen and bathrooms, large stage and small lounge.
The restaurant, in the former Paradise Park, offers lunch buffets from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s $19.95 for adults, $9.95 for children ages 10 and under, and free for keiki under 4. Dinner parties of 50 or more are also welcome. For reservations, call 988-6838.
Get your beer here: Gordon Biersch will offer a first-come, first-served brewery tour and beer tasting, 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday. For information call 599-4877.
Bon appetit: Chef Keith Endo has created a special menu to welcome Ghislaine Dupeuble of Domaine Dupeuble and Cyriaque Rozier of Chateau La Roque/Chateau Fontanes.
The three-course wine-paired meal costs $68 ($48 without wine) and will be held 6 p.m. Thursday at Vino. Reserve at 533-4476 or email Cheryle at email@example.com.
