New mixologist at Top of Waikiki: Jennifer Ackrill has joined the Top of Waikiki staff as director of mixology. Ackrill comes to Hawaii from San Francisco, where she worked at some of the finest cocktail bars and restaurants for almost two decades. Ackrill has created a menu of signature cocktails for the revolving eatery, such as her interpretation of the Hawaiian Mai Tai, Molokai Mule (a Moscow Mule re-imagined), Gin Basil Gimlet, Tradewinds Manhattan and the Classic Daiquiri. The drinks cost $10 to $12 apiece; or catch them at happy hour, 4:30 to 7 p.m. and 9 to 11 p.m. daily, when they start at $5. The eatery is at 2270 Kalakaua Ave. Call 923-3877.
P.F. Chang’s adds sushi to its menu: Chef Grant Kawasaki of P.F. Chang’s Waikiki in the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center has created five sushi rolls using local ingredients that give eaters a blend of Hawaiian and Asian tastes. All rolls cost $15.99. Call 628-6760.
Eat for a cause: Alan Wong’s eateries are just two of 126 restaurants participating in Localicious Hawaii this month, supporting ag education.
At Wong’s Pineapple Room inside Macy’s at Ala Moana Center (945-6573), diners who order the Loco Moco or Passionfruit Mojito will have $1 donated to the program.
At Alan Wong’s Honolulu, 1857 S. King St., $1 will be donated for every 5-Course Classics Menu, Locavore Mai Tai and The Coconut dessert ordered. To reserve, call 949-2526.

St. Patrick’s Day special: 12th Ave Grill has a lineup of specials to celebrate the Irish.
First, sip on whiskeys with a St. Patrick’s Day Irish Whiskey Flight for $15. Included in the 1-ounce pours are Greenore 8-year Single Grain Irish Whiskey, The Irishman Single Malt Irish Whiskey and Connemara 12-year Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey.
Then try the plate specials featuring Ni‘ihau Elk Shepherd’s Pie and the traditional house-made, grass-fed corned beef. There’s also a dessert of Baileys-Naked Cow Dairy fromage blanc Cheesecake with Guinness chocolate sauce.
From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the bar menu will offer Scotch Ka Lei egg, Irish cheddar fondue with soda bread and Red Breast scotch-cured salmon with rye crisp.

Freebies: Dairy Queen is kicking off its 75th-anniversary celebration with Free Cone Day on Monday. Drop by one of the participating Dairy Queens and get a free small vanilla soft-serve cone.
Jamba Juice has added pitaya, aka dragon fruit, to its menu. Samples of the exotic fruit will be given away from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at all locations while supplies last.
