For the west side: If you live on the west side and have a craving for Chinese roast pork, roast duck or char siu but don’t want to deal with traffic to Chinatown, Loco Moco Drive Inn in Ewa Beach has come to your rescue. The eatery now offers all three items “roasted fresh daily.” Grab roast pork or char siu for $11 a pound ($6 for a half-pound) or a whole duck for $21 ($11 half-duck). Plate lunches are also available from $6.50 to $10.75. The business, open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, is in the Ewa Beach Shopping Center, 91-919 Fort Weaver Road. Call 689-8321.
Sunset deal: Ryan’s Grill at Ward Centre has brought back its Sunset Menu, which features a three-course meal for $19.95 from 4 to 6 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays. To start, choose from a mixed green salad, Caesar salad or soup of the day; entree choices include kobe loco moco, fresh island catch, Cajun chicken fettuccine and hibachi garlic-soy chicken; and to end the meal, choose between key lime pie or dessert of the day. Calling all “Mad Men” fans: Want to party with fellow “Mad Men” watchers? Head to Bar 35 at 35 N. Hotel St. to watch the season premiere and partake in spiked punch, classic ’60s cocktails and retro appetizers while listening to ’60s-inspired music by Kitchen Music Society DJs TripleByPass and Mr. Nick. There will be Mad Twister and contests for the best mad women hair, “Mad Men”-inspired dressed couple or group and haiku. In addition to the many brunch offerings — shrimp cocktail; ahi poke shooters; Hawaiian Benedict; fruit-filled crepes; prime rib, pork belly, egg and omelet stations, to name a few — the restaurant is also preparing gluten-free pancakes, bread and muffins for those who request them.
