PICS: HIC Pro at Sunset Beach

The winter surf season got underway on the North Shore of Oahu as the 2012 HIC Pro kicked off at Sunset Beach on Sunday, Nov. 4. The local qualifier for the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing features a $95,000 prize; former champions Myles Padaca and Pancho Sullivan were among the pro surfers advancing to the next round of competition.

The holding period for the HIC Pro runs through Saturday, Nov. 10. No competition will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6, due to the general election. Visit www.vans.com/hicpro to watch a live stream of the contest online.
