On Saturday, Nov. 10, Ward Centers kicks off a new event series called “Discover Kaka‘ako.”
From 3 to 7 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month, a variety of fashion designers, food vendors and music acts will be featured at both Ward Centre and Ward Warehouse on Auahi Street.
At the inaugural event Saturday, the schedule includes an “Off the Cuff” wearable art exhibit, a collaboration between Fine Art Associates and the Hawaii Fashion Incubator, at Ward Centre. Art will also be on display at the Gallery at Ward Centre, Sedona, Jeff Change Pottery & Fine Arts, Na Mea, Nohea Gallery and Martin & MacArthur.
At Ward Warehouse, a vintage fashion show will take place featuring pieces from the “HI Fashion: The Legacy of Alfred Shaheen” exhibit opening the same day at the Bishop Museum; fashion shows are also planned by Basique Threads, Cottage by the Sea, Divalicious and DOLCE. Popular island music act Nesian N.I.N.E. will perform from 6 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot behind Ward Warehouse along Auahi St.
