In the Mix: No Ka Oink shirts spotlight pork
BY JASON GENEGABUS / email@example.com
If there’s one thing I know about chef Dave Cruz, it’s that he loves pork.
I’m not talking about a guy who simply professes his love for bacon, pork belly and the like. It takes a certain amount of love and dedication to start your own catering company focused on the protein — and now create his own T-shirt line with a pig-centric focus.
Cruz’s Project No Ka Oink shirts are limited edition products, with one-off production runs providing only a few dozen of each design for purchase. Three designs are currently available; one that spotlights the different types of dishes that can be created from pork and another that focuses on the different regions pork comes from, plus a third design inspired by different types of sauces.
Want one? If you know Cruz personally, these days he always takes a shirt or two with him when leaving home. Another option is to visit Cruz’s chef buddy Bob McGee over at the Whole Ox Deli & Butcher, where the shirts are available for $20 each.
