Quick Bites: Du Vin, Vino, Lanakila Kitchen, more

Bonne Soiree: Experience French dining at Brasserie Du Vin on Saturday, along with French wines and cocktails.

The prix fixe menu includes French cheese with grape chutney, a crispy pork belly braised in port wine, veal scallopini and cinnamon apple bread pudding with creme anglaise, available from 5 p.m. to closing Saturday at Brasserie Du Vin, 1115 Bethel St.

Night Before Thanksgiving: In case you want to warm up before your big meal, Brasserie Du Vin is also offering a Night Before Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday.

Chef Marco Elder offers a three-course menu including a choice of appetizers: seared Hudson Valley foie gras or beef carpaccio with roasted Maitake mushrooms, and a choice of entrees: pan-roasted duck breast over sweet potato gnocchi or herb-crusted lamb chops.

Dessert is a caramelized pear rum cake with Tahitian vanilla gelato.

Oysters and Champagne: Turkey is great, but if you want to kick off the holidays another way, then check out Vino’s holiday season kickoff Wednesday.

It’s part of Vino’s tradition to kick-start the holiday season with champagne and oysters.

Chef Keith Endo is creating three oyster specials: one raw, one fried and one baked. Special champagnes will be available by the glass, as will regular menu offerings, at Vino Italian Tapas & Wine Bar, 500 Ala Moana Blvd.; 533-4476 or email svilliers@dkrestaurants.com.

Na Hoa Malama: Hospice Hawaii holds its annual Na Hoa Malama wine dinner called “Journey to Napa” at the Waialae Country Club from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Enjoy a California cuisine gourmet dinner with wine pairings, silent auction and awards presentation honoring past patients who made a significant difference in the community.

Turkeys for a cause: Lanakila Kitchen is offering its Thanksgiving meals to go, with proceeds supporting Meals on Wheels.

The meals include a whole roast turkey, home-style smashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce, Nalo greens salad, rolls and a pumpkin pie that can serve nine to 10 people. Cost is $99.

Pick up meals from Lanakila Kitchen, 1809 Bachelot St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday or between 8 a.m. and noon Thursday.
