RESTAURANT WEEK HAWAII: The fifth annual Restaurant Week Hawaii takes place from Monday through Nov. 18. Proceeds support the Culinary Institute of the Pacific.

Dozens of restaurants statewide, both casual and upscale will offer special menu items, promotions and discounts, as a reminder that Hawaii is a culinary destination with top chefs, farm-to-table dining, and plenty to discover.

AMONG THE OFFERINGS: Hank’s Haute dogs offers a Hankburger for $7.50, along with natural-cut fries and a soda, while Hiroshi will offer a menu starting with steamed Shinsato Farm pork belly. Alan Wong’s Amasia in Wailea offers a three-course meal with appetizers like seafood won ton and shoyu duck bao bun plus “The Coconut” for dessert. PALMAZ VINEYARD DINNER: 3660 on the Rise offers a Palmaz Vineyard Dinner Thursday. Enjoy scallop carpaccio, slow-roasted fillet of salmon, bacon-wrapped short ribs, fire-roasted lamb chops and a warm pear tart with wine pairings, $90. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. at 3660 Waialae Ave. Reservations: 737-1177.

TASTE OF KALIHI: The Filipino Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii Foundation presents the sixth annual “A Taste of Kalihi Festival” and block party from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Enjoy Filipino, Korean and Japanese food from local vendors, along with entertainment, family activities and Hawaii’s largest electric slide dance, on Colburn Street near Dillingham Shopping Plaza; 783-3327, filipinochamber.org.

CHOCOLATE EXTRAVAGANZA: Emmanuel Episcopal Church holds its 10th annual chocolate extravaganza 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, with an all-you-can-eat chocolate buffet featuring chocolate from “bean to bar,” in baked form and chef’s creations. Proceeds go towards Family Promise of Hawaii and the ministries.

PIZZA FOR VETERANS: California Pizza Kitchen salutes veterans and active military by offering free pizza and a nonalcoholic drink, Sunday and Monday.
