The old school will represent in a big way when “The Legends of Hip Hop” national tour comes to Hawaii for a show Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Blaisdell Arena.

Tickets go on sale Monday, Nov. 22.

Salt-N-Pepa (pictured) — who were last here as part of a “Ladies of the ’80s” package in May of ’09 — return with a veritable who’s-who of pioneer East Coast rap and hip-hop icons in Big Daddy Kane, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, and Rob Base.

Salt-N-Pepa made their name as the first big female rap duo; Big Daddy Kane with his smooth, masculine charisma and prodigious rhyming technique; Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh combining their rap and beatbox skills on the classic “The Show/La-Di-Da-Di”; and Rob Base who, originally with DJ EZ Rock, put together the memorable “It Takes Two.”

Tickets for the show go for $35, $65 and $100, and will be available Monday at the Blaisdell Center box office, all Ticketmaster outlets in Walmart stores in Hawaii, charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000 and online at www.ticketmaster.com.

OF COURSE CAPONE’S PRODUCTION WON’T TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE CHANGE AND JUST TELLS ME THAT THE HEADLINER DIDN’T CHANGE SO THEY WON’T DO ANYTHING FOR ME!!!
